Jigged Olive Willy | A Stillwater Pattern Worth Having | Fly Tying Tutorial

Jigged Olive Willy | A Stillwater Pattern Worth Having | Fly Tying Tutorial

In this fly tying tutorial Cheech ties the Jigged Olive Willy. The Olive Willy is one of my very favorite stillwater fly patterns, and is well known in the Pacific Northwest as a great damsel or dragonfly imitation. This is a version tied on a jig hook that can either be fished balanced style or traditional style. I use this fly a lot in the mid-summer months when there are a lot of damselflies flying around in my favorite application is with a parabolic fly line. Also, I have tried mixing up colors with this fly, but the olive one always works better than anything else! Create at your own risk!
