Daniel Baekkegard was supposed to be the next Danish triathlon champion.
However, having shown all the promise and potential of a future world champion, 2022 was a disappointment for the outspoken Dane and he was soon surpassed as number one in Denmark by Magnus Ditlev, a quiet titan that proved himself as one of the best bikers the sport has ever seen.
After 8th place in Ibiza at the PTO European Open, Daniel and Magnus would go head to head at triathlon’s historic Challenge Roth. Could Daniel prove he has what it takes to be one of the best in the world?
What unfolded would prove historic as the likes of Daniela Ryf, Anne Haug, Chelsea Sodaro, Laura Philipp, Ben Kanute, Sebastian Kienle, Joe Skipper and Patrick Lange all joined Daniel and Magnus on the start line.
