The Tup’s Indispensable is a fly pattern with a rather humorous history and I had to get a little more acquainted with said history when I did a tie off with Tim Flagler and Tom Rosenbauer, or Thomathy Rosenflagler as I call them collectively… I digress. The original Tups fly used pink dyed wool that was crafted by a very steady handed and bold Shepherd. In today’s age, we leave the risks of dying the dubbing to fly companies who have perfected the art. The PMD version really isn’t too far from the original Tups Indispensable but the hackle is tied in hackle stacker style to give it a little bit of modern flair. Cheers to all the BOLD Shepherds who brought this fly to life!!!!
