In this session, Jon and Jesse walk us through some exciting programs happening across New York and Connecticut for wild trout. The team has partnered with New York and Connecticut state fisheries managers to generate priority lists of wild trout streams where citizen-collected spawning data truly helps inform better management of wild trout streams in the seasons ahead. Local TU chapters and Costa 5 Rivers College Clubs are actively participating across both states right now! We are accepting & encouraging volunteers across to get in touch with TU staff to start surveying local priority creeks with TU’s Redd Survey & Rivers Apps to help in the effort. Our hosts not only explain and identify trout spawning conditions but help the viewer to get a better sense of why and how volunteer survey data collection can be fun and super helpful.
Having tech issues? As a compliment to this session and for a full “Survey123” app walk-through, please reference this video created by TU staff a few years back: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vdAKhp2HT64&t=11s&pp=ygUfdHJvdXQgdW5saW1pdGVkIHJlZGQgc3VydmV5IGFwcA%3D%3D
