This is a tricky pattern for most tiers because there is a lot of glueing and fussing. Plenty of places to screw up so this one should be fun to watch. Each tier will use different techniques and you get to vote on which one ties the best version–and it’s all live!
It’s a great pattern for permit, redfish, striped bass, and bonefish in smaller sizes.
Hook: Size 2-6 standard saltwater
Thread: White, 140 denier
Eyes: Solid metal eyes, often orange inside, burnt mono outside.
Claws and legs: Ultra chenille
And lots of glue!
