At a media event here on the ground at the Ironman 70.3 World Championship in Nice, France, Scott DeRue made the exciting announcement of the 2027 Pro Series venues. It’s a revamped schedule that DeRue describes as the best yet, thanks in part to the input of Paula Newby-Fraser, who considered a number of factors, including country representation, diversity of course profiles, and ease of scheduling based on where pros tend to be at different times of the year.

The 2027 schedule includes seven new destinations, contributing to a total of 16 Pro Series events, including the Ironman 70.3 and full-distance Ironman World Championships. As in previous years, an athlete’s top five results count toward their end-of-year score, with a maximum of three full-distance races counting and championship events offering more points.

Here’s the calendar – and for age-groupers looking to sign up to race alongside the pros at some of the most prestigious events, take note!

• May 15: Ironman Lanzarote
• May 23: Ironman 70.3 Pennsylvania Happy Valley North American Championship
• Jun 6: Ironman 70.3 Tours Metropole – Loire Valley
• Jun 21: Ironman 70.3 Mont-Tremblant
• Jun 27: Mainova Ironman Frankfurt European Championship
• Jul 11: Ironman 70.3 Jonkoping
• Jul 25: Athletic Brewing Ironman Lake Placid
• Aug 8: Ironman 70.3 Leipzig
• Aug 28: Precision Fuel & Hydration Ironman 70.3 World Championship Chattanooga

For Canadians, Ironman 70.3 Mont-Tremblant has been added back to the Pro Series line-up, although the event has already sold out. It did so in less than six hours, representing the fastest sell-out in this geography in more than 15 years.

Another very exciting addition is the iconic Ironman Lanzarote. Frankfurt will also host both men and women this year, after serving as the men’s European Championship in previous years.

The two World Championship events will also be separated by six weeks in 2027, a scenario many pros will likely prefer if they’re looking to race both to the best of their abilities. Concerns were shared this year about the championships being too close together, with Nice and Kona separated by only four weeks.

Overall, the Pro Series offers a $1.7 million USD season-end prize purse, paid 50 deep. An additional $2.5 million in prize money is available across the individual events, adding to the incentives beyond the already generous season-end payout.
