“Music is a big part of how I get through the work.” Lucy Charles-Barclay reveals how waterproof headphones are her secret training weapon

Lucy ‘the mermaid’ Charles-Barclay is well known for her swimming prowess, but has shared how listening to music really helps her get the training done. The Ironman champ is collaborating with H20 Audio to release a limited edition set of waterproof swimming headphones designed to help athletes get the best out of their training.

H20 Audio, a global leader in waterproof and high-performance sport headphones, has announced a new collaboration with IRONMAN world champion Lucy Charles-Barclay featuring limited edition headphones. The LUCY CHARLES-BARCLAY x TRI 2 PRO is a custom version of the waterproof multisport headphones she trains in across swimming, cycling and running. The partnership continues H2O Audio’s athlete-led approach to multisport product development.

Training with music

Built around “The Work Behind the Win” theme, the limited edition puts the focus on the training that builds performance before race day. Lucy, regarded as one of the best triathletes in the world, brought her design input and custom colorway to the edition. She also recorded a short, preloaded audio message. Limited to just 500 units, the special edition will be available exclusively at H2O Audio for $219.99 while supplies last.

“Triathlons require me to move through three very different environments, and the TRI 2 PRO fits naturally into my swim, bike and run training. The controls are easy to use in the water, the open-ear sound feels clear, and PLAYLIST+ lets me take my music with me without relying on my phone,” Lucy said. “Music is a big part of how I get through the work, so I wanted this edition to feel personal. These are the headphones I train in, and I’m excited for other athletes to make them part of their training.”

Built for multisporters

“We’re incredibly excited to partner with Lucy on an edition that reflects how she actually trains,” said Kristian Rauhala, founder and CEO of H2O Audio. “She’s a world champion who understands the demands of endurance training – in water, on the bike and on the road. Her drive, focus and determination to “Go Beyond” are at the heart of H2O Audio’s mission. This is far more than a signature colorway. Lucy trains in the TRI 2 PRO, helped shape the edition, and brought her own voice to the experience. We’re proud to launch something that is authentically hers and is built for the way multisport athletes really train.”

The product features include:

  • H2O Audio’s award-winning open-ear bone conduction technology designed to deliver
sound in and out of the water while helping athletes remain aware of their surroundings
  • Lucy’s custom blue and white colorway, designed with her input, with only 500 available
  • A voice message recorded by Lucy, exclusive to this edition
