It’s a tradition that’s been going since 1998 when Chris Danahy, Tim Morris and Paul Huddle put together a “protest against wearing Speedos in inappropriate places” here on the Big Island during the Ironman World Championship race week.
Since then the Kona Underpants Run has raised over $360,000 for various charities here on the Big Island. While the founders weren’t on hand for today’s event, the participants were ably led by Roch Frey, Matt Lieto, Tim O’Donnell and Craig Alexander. Here are a few shots from today’s festivities:
