Monthly Tie-Off Live Contest–The Jumbo John Nymph

Monthly Tie-Off Live Contest--The Jumbo John Nymph

Watch a live fly tying contest between Cheech, Tim Flagler, and Tom Rosenbauer and vote for your favorite at the end. Mistakes will happen as well as some nasty trash talk. For our monthly tie-off, Cheech picked the pattern, the Jumbo John nymph. It’s basically a Copper John tied in an extra-large size, with more synthetic materials. This combined with the large size makes it easier to tie. Use this for trout in big, heavy water, steelhead, or bass. It probably looks like a stonefly to the fish but they may also take it for a small crayfish.
