About the Role
As editor, you will be responsible for the planning, production, and timely execution of three high-quality print issues each year. You will also manage the day-to-day editorial content for our website, ensuring it reflects the latest news, trends, athlete profiles, training insights, gear reviews, and race coverage relevant to Canadian triathletes.
You’ll work closely with freelance writers and photographers, assigning and editing content that resonates with our audience. Your organizational skills, editorial judgment, knowledge and enthusiasm for triathlon will be key in maintaining the high standards and unique voice of the magazine.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking an active triathlete who has a deep understanding of and strong connection to the Canadian triathlon community. The ideal candidate brings proven experience in writing, editing, and content planning, along with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively. You should be self-motivated, collaborative, and comfortable working closely with contributors and editorial teams. A strong grasp of both print and digital publishing is essential, and you should be enthusiastic about creating engaging, high-quality content for our website on a daily basis. You must enthusiastically follow the triathlon race and pro scene.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll oversee the planning and production of three print issues of Triathlon Magazine Canada each year. You’ll also write, edit, and publish daily editorial content for triathlonmagazine.ca, ensuring it reflects the latest news, stories, and insights from the triathlon world. Managing freelance writers and photographers will be a key part of the job, including commissioning content and coordinating deadlines. Maintaining high editorial standards, consistency, and relevance across both print and digital platforms is essential. You’ll also be expected to stay current with developments in the sport, both in Canada and internationally, to keep our content fresh and informed.
