Vancouver T100 preview: Paula Findlay targets podium on home soil

Edmonton’s Paula Findlay is set to race in front of a home crowd on Saturday at the Vancouver T100, part of the T100 Triathlon World Tour. Fresh off a fourth-place finish in San Francisco just 10 days ago, Findlay is aiming for a podium result in the women’s pro race at Jericho Beach Park, which starts at 12 p.m. local time.

“Canada feels like home and it will be really cool to have some family and friends able to come and watch me,” she said.

The 100km course features a 2km swim off Locarno Beach, an 80km bike leg along NW Marine Drive with five laps near UBC, and an 18km run along Locarno and Spanish Banks Beach Parks. Findlay believes the course suits her strengths: “Flat courses aren’t my favourite, so it’s good from that point of view.”

Findlay, a former PTO Championship winner over this distance, is excited to see the T100 series arrive in Canada for the first time. “It’s super important to have a race in Canada,” she said.

You can catch the action live for free worldwide on PTO+, or watch it on partner channels including TNT Sports 2 in the UK, Max or Discovery+ across Europe, and beIN in North America.
