This is an imitation of an Eastern Green Drake spinner, but with some color and size substitutions it work for any large mayfly spinner like the Brown Drake, Hex, or Western Green Drake. The suspense will build as each one of the boys tries to tie their best version.
Hook: Long- shanked hook, size 8
Thread: 70 Denier or 6/0
Tail: Moose body hair or woodchuck guard hairs or hackle fibers
Rib: Thread, wire or stripped quill
Body: Anything white
Post: White polypropylene floating yarn
Thorax: Anything black.
Hackle: Grizzly
