The rise of Kat Matthews within professional triathlon has been meteoric and the 2022 season was poised for greatness following a win in Lanzarote, second at the Ironman World Championship in St George and a history making performance to become the first ever woman to finish a full distance race inside 8 hours during the Sub8 project.
In the blink of an eye all of that was crushed during one training ride in September.
