T100 Racing at Its Best: London Lit the Fire – On to the French Riviera

London Delivered a Women’s Race for the Ages

The T100 women’s race in London will be remembered as one of the greatest middle-distance triathlons in history. It was everything the sport could hope for: relentless lead changes, a bike leg where every contender took a turn at the front, and a run where even inside the final three kilometers no one could predict the winner.

Viewers witnessed a back-and-forth battle that kept the result uncertain until the very end – a race so competitive and unpredictable it set a new standard for the series. From a broadcast standpoint, it was perfection. This was the kind of women’s race that athletes dream of competing in and fans dreams of watching.

French Riviera Set to Raise the Stakes

Fresh off the London race, the T100 Tour heads to Saint-Raphael for Round 5 of the series, and anticipation could not be higher. On August 14th, T100 revealed the contracted athlete list set for the French Riviera women’s race, which will also serve as the first-ever joint T100 and World Triathlon Championship Series (WTCS) event. Fans can watch it live on Saturday August 30th.

The start list is stacked: Julie Derron, Kate Waugh, Jessica Learmonth, Ashleigh Gentle, Lucy Byram, Taylor Spivey, Paula Findlay, Hannah Berry, Grace Thek, Marta Sanchez, Ellie Salthouse, Els Visser, India Lee, Laura Madsen, Flora Duffy, and Caroline Phole.

The French Riviera showdown carries major significance for the overall standings. Derron currently leads with 96 points, followed closely by Waugh and Knibb who are tied at 90, and Charles-Barclay sits in fourth with 84.

Canadian Paula Findlay is another name to watch. She sits in 11th with 37 points, but with only two races under her belt compared to three or four for her rivals, she has a strong chance to climb the leaderboard with a top performance.

Two athletes stand out above the rest heading into Saint-Raphael. Derron and Waugh, each a race winner already this season, will be chasing a second victory and control of the leaderboard. Meanwhile, Olympic gold medalist Flora Duffy is making her long-awaited return after an injury. In May, she confirmed on Instagram that an ultrasound had revealed an Achilles injury, but now she is back on the start line, ready to test herself against the world’s best.

With the memory of London’s fireworks still fresh, all signs point to another unforgettable face-off. Against the stunning backdrop of the French Riviera, the women of the T100 will once again deliver a race no triathlon fan will want to miss.

The professional women’s race broadcast begins on Saturday August 30th at 06:45 CEST, with the race start at 07:12 CEST. Every moment of the action can be watched live, free and ad-free on PTO+.
