I started tying this pattern a few years ago after watching a conventional angler catch walleyes and smallmouth bass on a small chartreuse Gulp minnow. This pattern leans on patterns like the Thundercreek special, however, in this fly, we use artificial hair for the wing and body. The Thundercreek uses bucktail. Feel free to substitute bucktail or any other fiber. Like most flies, this is a jumping-off point for experimentation.
