There’s plenty at stake this weekend as the 2025 Supertri Triathlon League crowns its champions on October 5th in Toulouse, France. The Grand Finale brings the world’s fastest short-course specialists to the start line, where winners will collect 20 points instead of the usual 15, and a record prize purse is on the line.
Podium Racing leads the team standings after three rounds, followed by Crown Racing, Brownlee Racing, and Stars and Stripes Racing. At the top of the men’s leaderboard, Stars and Stripes’ Csongor Lehmann holds a narrow edge over Alberto Gonzalez Garcia of Podium Racing and his teammate Vasco Vilaca. On the women’s side, Podium Racing has proven dominant, with Jeanne Lehair in first place and teammate Leonie Periault just behind. Crown Racing’s Georgia Taylor-Brown sits in third.
For the first time, Toulouse will also host a mass participation race alongside the elite race, giving athletes a chance to compete on the same stage as the professionals.
The prize money at stake underscores the magnitude of the finale. The winning team will earn $350,000, with $250,000 for second, $150,000 for third, and $100,000 for fourth. The top five individuals in the league will also be rewarded, ranging from $50,000 for first to $10,000 for fifth, while discipline champions in the swim, bike, and run will each receive $3,000.
Athletes at the Sharp End
Lehair has been one of the defining athletes of the 2025 season, delivering consistently across both Supertri and the World Triathlon Championship Series (WTCS). She points to her race craft as one of her greatest strengths.
“In Jersey I knew if I wanted to win I needed to at least be with Leonie when she took the short chute. For that I had to nail my transitions, and luckily I did.”
She has also been steadily building confidence over the past five years. “Since [starting with] my coach in 2020 I have never been injured for more than two weeks. I have been consistent for almost five years, building each season, and now it’s finally showing.”
Lehmann reflects on his victory in Jersey, sharing: “My preparation in altitude before this racing block [went very] well… there were no setbacks, no sickness, and I felt really strong. I just had to stay calm and focused, and luckily I [executed] without a mistake, which I think was the key.”
Looking ahead to the finale in Toulouse, Lehmann sees it as both a title opportunity and a potential career milestone. “It’s a dream becoming reality to be able to fight for the first place. There is no pressure on me at all, but it would be one of my best achievements if I could have this title.”
Podium Racing’s Winning Formula
Behind the success of Podium Racing is owner-manager John Anthony, who emphasizes a team-first philosophy.
“I want to build the best international team of triathletes in the world, full stop,” he says. “And the part I would emphasize there is team.”
Podium Racing has also leaned into a unique tactical approach. “We are a very data-driven team. We use scenario modeling to prepare for races, and it informs how we approach tactics and even recruitment. But at the end of the day, you also need instinct – sometimes that is what decides whether you give a short chute to one athlete or another.”
Anthony sees the bigger picture, too. “[Supertri] is an amazing platform. It is a fan-first model that combines elite racing with mass participation.” He notes this flywheel effect does not exist elsewhere in short-course racing, and sees it as a significant value-add to the sport as a whole.
A Finale With Everything at Stake
With money, prestige, and season titles on the line, Toulouse has all the ingredients for a thrilling finish. Lehair is chasing her first Supertri crown, Lehmann is looking to turn a dream season into a championship, and Anthony’s Podium Racing is in position to secure the team title.
On October 5th, in “La Ville Rose,” the spotlight will shine on those who can balance calm execution with raw speed and tactical finesse. The Supertri League began the year promising fireworks. The Grand Finale may deliver its most dazzling display yet.
