The Elilee EK01 spider power meter grabbed my attention after a flood of questions, but both the alloy and carbon units showed the same problems: power lag, erratic cadence, and badly under-reported peak power – all issues that persisted indoors, outdoors, and even after a firmware update. Steady-state numbers were mostly OK, but anything above ~1000W fell apart, and residual torque problems post peak sprints required regular manual zeroing. Given these faults across two units and verified against stable baselines, I halted further testing and sent the data over to Elilee for review. In short: promising on paper, but the sprint and cadence issues make it a non-starter for now. I’ll keep an eye on how things progress with any future updates. Fingers crossed they can drop another firmware update to address the issues they’re having.
