I recently had the idea to train for a sprint triathlon. M/32, 6’3″, 250. Run 15-20 miles (slowly) per week to train for my second half marathon in April, cycle 2-4 hours per week. Haven’t swam regularly since high school, but was on swim team for four years and specialized in 100 butterfly, but also competed in the 100 backstroke and 500 freestyle. Would it be reasonable, assuming I get my ass back in the pool ASAP, to target a first sprint at the end of the summer, or would it be more sensible to look towards 2023?
