Ahead of the London T100, World Triathlon President Antonio Arimany and PTO CEO Sam Renouf hosted an event at the London ExCeL Centre to provide an update on the 2027 Triathlon World Tour.

They opened by reiterating the purpose of the merger: greater unification of the sport through streamlined series, pathways, and storytelling, all working collectively toward the broader goal of growing triathlon and making it more mainstream.

As for what was new today that hadn’t already been shared, the primary announcement was the release of the preliminary schedule for championship-level racing (Tier 1, the highest level of the T50 and T100 series). There will also be a Tier 2 developmental Challenger Series, with more details to be announced at a later date.

The 2027 T50 venues will include Abu Dhabi (March 27-28), Samarkand (April 24-25), Yokohama (May 15-16), Rome (June 5-6), Los Angeles (July 16-18), London (August 21-22), Hamburg (September 8-12 representing the World Championship Finals), Weihai (September 25-26), and Tauranga (November 20-21).

The T100 calendar will feature the Gold Coast (March 20-21), Singapore (April 10-11), San Francisco (June 5-6), Vancouver (August 14-15), Marbella (September 18-19), Saudi Arabia (November 26-27), and Qatar (December 10-11), with the French Riviera also to be added, with exact dates to be confirmed.

Prize money and additional details will be released during the same weekend as this year’s World Triathlon Championship Finals in Pontevedra.

*Of note, through to the LA 2028 Olympic Games, the “T50” category will continue to include both sprint- and Olympic-distance races, with no changes to race distances.*
